HAILEY MARMOLEJO

Hailey Marmolejo, a San Antonio native, discovered her passion for art at an early age. After earning a Fine Arts degree from St. Edward’s University in 2015, she moved to New York City, where she painted, explored street art, and worked at the Brooklyn Museum of Art. She also studied acting at the Stella Adler Conservatory and performed in several off-Broadway productions. In 2020, Hailey returned to Texas, where she has created numerous murals. Her work has been featured in books and magazines and exhibited in galleries, museums, and businesses across NYC, Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado.

Hailey Marmolejo’s work is a testament to the spirit of the Tejana woman, and the beauty and strength of the landscape that she embodies. Inspired by the native flora, such as the enchanting agave and nopal, that is also incredibly resilient and able to survive in harsh environments, her work showcases the complexities and contradictions of her own identity. Through her use of bright and vibrant colors mixing with bold, contrasting lines, her artworks emerge both delicate and fierce. It is her intention to thoughtfully weave the essence of her culture into each creation, delving deep into the multifaceted nature that defines her being. Each of her works echoes the nuances that have shaped her perspective, offering a glimpse into the vibrant tapestry of her South Texas roots. Marmolejo’s art serves as a mirror reflecting not only her own journey of self-discovery but also the intricacies of the world around her, inviting viewers to explore and appreciate the dualities found within the intersections of identity and environment.
