CAROLINE PINNEY
Caroline Pinney (b. 1993) is an Austin-based painter whose work navigates the instability of identity through distorted figurative forms and materially driven compositions. Oscillating between control and collapse, her paintings use staining, abrasion, gesture, and accumulation to build emotional atmospheres that feel simultaneously intimate and detached. Recent work reflects a growing preoccupation with the body as something mutable and psychologically charged - less as portraiture and more as evidence of transformation, tension, appetite, performance, and memory.
