Commerce Gallery is thrilled to present a pop-up exhibition by Austin artist Christy Stallop. Stallop’s work will be showcased at the gallery for the month of December. Stop in and experience the artist’s distinctive grackle paintings and vivid, western-influenced work.
To celebrate, we're hosting a First Friday Art Party unveiling Stallop’s work and featuring existing exhibitions from Susan Sage and Christopher St. Leger.

About Christy Stallop
Christy Stallop is an artist living in Austin, Texas. Born and raised in El Paso, her work is greatly influenced by the west. She received a degree in Art Education from St. Edwards University and taught art at a small tier one charter school for 11 years. During that time, Christy was the illustrator chair of the local Chapter of The Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators group and published several books for the children’s market. In 2016, She left teaching to paint full time and it has become her primary pursuit. Christy’s work has been featured in the City of Austin’s People’s Gallery and the Art in Public Places TEMPO programs.
